Egil Fagerland

Chief Executive Officer

Egil A. Fagerland has more than 10 years of experience from the energy industry. In 2024 he was appointed CEO of SLB Capturi, a dedicated carbon capture company enabling carbon reduction and carbon removal at scale.

Fagerland has held a number of corporate and finance key positions. He served as the CEO of Aker Carbon Capture and held position of CFO in the company. He was the SVP Group Controlling and Financial Systems in Aker Solutions, and Head of Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Systems in DeepOcean.

Fagerland holds a master’s degree in economics and business administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

Alex Variu

Finance Director

Alex Variu is a finance professional with over 24 years of experience. He has held various Finance and Operations functions across organizations such as Precision Castparts Corporation, Cameron International Corporation and SLB, including international experience from Romania, Netherlands, UK and United States. Variu holds a Master’s degree in International Transactions from the Academy of Economics Bucharest and a Corporate Finance Diploma from London Business School.

Pernille Brente

General Counsel

Qualified lawyer and previously Head of Legal Customer Management in Aker Solutions. Brente has held various management positions within the Aker Solutions legal department in the UK and at the corporate headquarters. Previous experience from Nordnet AB in Stockholm and Arntzen de Besche law firm.

Jon Christopher Knudsen

Chief Commercial Officer

Strategy and technology expert with more than 20 years’ experience from the oil and energy sector, including several leadership positions in digitalisation, customer experience, strategy, and HR at Aker Solutions. Previous experience from international consultancy firm Accenture.

Erik Langholm

Chief Operating Officer

Chemical Engineer with more than 20 years’ experience in Aker Solutions, including position as Project Director for Johan Sverdrup EPma and for international projects. Langholm has previously served as Department Manager for Aker Solutions’ CCUS and Project Director for the Norcem CCS project.

Jim Stian Olsen

Chief Technology Officer

Experienced research and innovation professional with a demonstrated history of operating in the intersection of industry, business, and scientific research. Olsen is a Mechanical Engineer and holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU.

Nina Westgaard

Chief of Staff

Experienced HR professional with more than 15 years’ experience from media and FMCG. She has held various management positions within HR, Communication and Organization Development. Previous experience as Vice President HR & Admin in Scandza, HR Director in Egmont Publishing and VG, as well as Lean Expert in Schibsted. Westgaard holds a MSc in Electrical Engineering from NTNU.

Jim Keogh

Vice President, North America

Keogh has more than 35 years of experience in the international Oil and Gas industry which includes 20 years residing in Asia and Europe. Over his career, Keogh has worked for SLB, Cameron International, Aker Kvaerner, Grace Davison and Conoco in a variety of roles. Keogh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
