Oslo CCS

SLB Capturi is delivering a carbon capture plant at Hafslund Celsio’s waste-to-energy facility in Oslo, Norway. Hafslund Celsio is Norway’s largest district heating supplier and the owner and operator of the country’s largest waste-to-energy plant. This project is a key part of Longship, the Norwegian Government’s full value-chain carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiative.

The project will be delivered using SLB Capturi’s modularized Just Catch™ 400 carbon capture plant, which significantly reduces onsite footprint and installation work. The scope includes a carbon capture plant, liquefaction system, temporary storage, and a loading facility at the waste incineration site.

The Oslo CCS project was reinitiated by Hafslund Celsio after a cost reduction phase identified opportunities for efficiency, including layout optimization. The space-efficient Just Catch™ design was fundamental in enabling a viable, cost-effective solution by reducing onsite footprint, installation, and outfitting work.

When operational, the carbon capture plant will capture 350,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
