We provide process designs and technology licenses for large-scale industrial carbon capture plants under our Big Catch™ concept. These large-scale industrial carbon capture plants are optimized to project specific requirements and cover capacities from 400 kTPA into the millions. All our plants are based on our Advanced Carbon Capture™ process technology and proprietary solvent portfolio.
Big Catch™ plants are fully integrated into the host facilities of our customers. This includes both advanced heat integration, and modular construction enabling low energy consumption through effective energy recovery. One example of this is our proprietary compression system with heat integration developed together with MAN Energy, which is being delivered as part of the world’s first carbon capture plant at a cement production facility at Brevik CCS in Norway.
MAN Energy SolutionsSLB Capturi has designed and is currently constructing a highly integrated brownfield capture plant for Heidelberg Materials at Brevik, Norway. This facility will capture 400,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year and does so without the need for any net import of steam thanks to our highly heat integrated design. The plant construction is heavily modularized to enable delivery within the congested brownfield site.
The know-how from this EPC project delivery experience, coupled with more than 20 years of technology development, including more than ten mobile test unit campaigns and the design and construction of the Technology Center Mongstad (TCM) plant in 2012 is embedded within all our Big Catch™ process design packages.
